Primary arterial. A street, including Interstate Highway Service Roads, whose main purpose is to serve as a major route into, out of or across the City. … Primary arterials have at least three (3) lanes plus a bicycle lane in each direction separated by a median. … No parking is permitted. …

Arterials are supposed to have bike lanes, there is no need to designate Oak and Hickory something else in order to put bike lanes on them.

I commute from Robinson to the town center and that is the most dangerous part of my commute without a doubt. It makes me wonder how many people in that very heavily populated residential area are scared off of commuting by bike because of it.
